Camp Schedule

Monday 24 August – Calculation

The week begins with tactical thinking and calculation. Students develop candidate move selection, visualization, tactical patterns and structured thinking processes. Group C focuses on core tactical motifs, Group B on efficient candidate move selection, while Group A explores deep calculation and visualization.

Tuesday 25 August– Positional Play

Attention shifts from tactics to understanding positions. Students learn pawn structures, piece activity, strategic planning and how to evaluate positions beyond immediate tactics.

Wednesday 26 August – Strategy

The focus moves to long-term planning, weak squares, imbalances and transformation of positions. The day also includes a Trainer Discussion Panel and concludes with a Simultaneous Exhibition.

Thursday 27 August – Endgame Technique

Students study essential and advanced endgames, learning how to convert advantages and defend difficult positions. The afternoon features a Masterclass with GM Viktor Bologan followed by Blitz Night.

Friday 28 August – Openings & Conversion

The final day integrates the week’s learning through opening preparation, converting advantages, defensive resources and final practical sessions. The camp concludes with review and feedback.

Objectives per group

Group C – Developing Players

Build strong chess foundations through tactical motifs, basic strategic ideas, essential endgames and sound opening principles.

Group B – Intermediate Players

Develop deeper positional understanding, connect tactical and strategic thinking, improve technical endgames and learn practical conversion techniques.

Group A – Advanced Players

Train using professional methods, including advanced calculation, sophisticated positional play, high-level endgames and master game analysis.

Educational Philosophy

The curriculum is designed as a logical progression rather than a collection of isolated topics. Students first learn to calculate accurately, then understand positional concepts, formulate strategic plans, master endgame technique and finally integrate these skills into opening preparation and practical play. Throughout the week, lectures are reinforced by workshops, practical exercises and guided analysis, ensuring that new knowledge is immediately applied. Special activities -including the Trainer Discussion Panel, GM Viktor Bologan Masterclass, Simultaneous Exhibition and Blitz Night – provide inspiration, motivation and memorable experiences beyond the classroom.

To provide a broader learning experience, trainers rotate between groups throughout the camp, allowing every participant to benefit from different coaching styles, areas of expertise, and perspectives while maintaining continuity through a coordinated curriculum.
